Title: Access Triage Nurse Coordinator (Per Diem - Day Shift)

A behavioral health facility in Belle Mead, NJ, is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Registered Nurse for a per diem opportunity as an Access Triage Nurse Coordinator. In this critical front-line role, you will assess incoming patients, collaborate with physicians, coordinate admissions, and guide care decisions at the point of intake. You'll play a vital part in ensuring patients receive timely, appropriate behavioral health services.

Salary: $43.63/hour starting minimum rate

• Triage patients and obtain critical clinical information.
• Assist LIPs with medical clearances and admission procedures.
• Conduct patient/family interviews and escalate emergencies as necessary.
• Guide and support team members during shift under supervision of Access Director.
• Maintain and document accurate patient information in EMRs.
• Handle patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
• Communicate with units and outpatient centers regarding upcoming admissions or care transitions.
• Complete EMTALA audits and present findings.
• Serve on committees and contribute to training and onboarding initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Active NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License
• AHA BLS Certification (or must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN or MSN
• One year of behavioral health or substance abuse experience
• NJ screener or admissions experience
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification

Schedule & Shift Differential:

• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Day Shift)
• Every other weekend required
• Two holidays per year
• No oncall responsibilities
• Shift Differential (if applicable):
• Weekday Evening: +$4.00/hr
• Weekend Day: +$4.00/hr
• Weekend Evening: +$8.00/hr
• Weekday Night: +$6.00/hr
• Weekend Night: +$10.00/hr
